Q: How long does it take?

A: Currently, I have 0 spots for the rest of the year.  The wait time for completion is about 12-14 weeks. You can contact me here to be added to the January waiting list. a $100 deposit is required to hold your spot.

Q: Are there other costs involved?

A: There are 3 possible reasons for other costs:

  1. If your subject is exceptionally complex then yes, and we will discuss it before you make a decision.

  2. If you want major changes after the painting is underway. (moving something over, adding a person…)

  3. If you want it shipped you’ll incur the cost.

  4. Sales tax will be added to the total if you live in Louisiana.

Q: Can you come take the photo of my subject?

A: Yes, I actually prefer it if it’s a pet. There is no extra charge for photos.

Q: What kinds of surfaces do you paint on?

A: If you want to frame your painting, I use a flat wood or canvas panel. Flat panel edges

If you want to hang it as is, I use a gallery wrapped canvas which has finished edges and is ready to hang.

Q: What style do you paint?

A: My work is semi-impressionistic. I prefer to create a feeling through color and texture rather than an exact copy of a photo. You can search this website for examples of my painting style.

Q: What kinds of subject matter do you paint?

A: Almost anything, however I'm not doing human portraits at this time.

Q: How do I go about getting a painting commissioned?

A: Click here.  We will start a discussion about your painting and walk through the process together.

Q: How does the process work?

A: Like this:

  1. You describe to me what you want painted.

  2. I get back with you and let you know if it’s something I can do.

  3. We discuss the complexity of it and what I’ll need in terms of references whether photos you take or some that I take.

  4. I take the references and create a sketch for you to approve.

  5. Once you decide to proceed, a 50% deposit is required for me to book your spot and begin the process.                                                                                
  6. Upon approval of the sketch, I begin the painting and keep you updated along the way through process photos or time lapse videos.

  7. When I’m close to done, I’ll send it to you for input and small adjustments you would like. Major adjustments will incur an extra fee.

  8. I make final adjustments if needed and send you an invoice for the balance.

  9. Once you pay, it’s yours! I can ship or you can pick up.  Shipping costs are added to the total fee.
